Places to Visit While in Lloret de Mar.

If you have booked a do it yourself on-line package holiday one thing you may miss at your hotel is a holiday rep. One job the rep can do for you is to book the organised coach excursions to the various places on the Costa Brava.
One option you do have here in Lloret de Mar is to go to the small office run by the Laeitana excursion company. You will find them in the side street near the bus station in Lloret.
The trips available are to the most popular tourist attractions such as - Barcelona Camp Nou Stadium, Fountains and shopping.
The weekly Sunday market at Tordera is always worth a visit.
Dali Museum in the picturesque town of Figueres.
Port Aventura down the coast in the resort of Salou, and various others depending on the time of year.
The coaches will pick up and drop off as close as possible to your hotel.

Airport Tranfers to Lloret de mar

Arriving at Barcelona you have a choice of taxi, train or bus. First of all a private taxi will cost about 150€ with your luggage etc, so its quite expensive. Journey time is about 1hr depending on traffic.
Your next option is the train (approx every half hr) This is the cheapest but not easiest option. You travel as far as Blanes by train then by bus from there to Lloret, the bus waits for the train outside the station. The full cost of this journey was 5€ last year, so maybe just a few cents more now. Owing to the coastal route of train this journey can take 2 - 2 1/2hrs from airport to your hotel. Click HERE to go to the timetable.
Once on the page click on 'Horarios' near the train symbol.
In the drop down menu under Origen select 'Aeroport' on the Destino select 'Blanes'.
Then select your date on the 'Entre' drop down menu, click on Horarios for the times.
(To return to this page click back.)
The train station in Barcelona is just over the road from the airport, reached via the footbridge. When you buy your ticket tell them you are going to Lloret de Mar as you can use this ticket for the bus part of the journey, but you will have to change trains at Barcelona Sants.
Another option both for Barcelona and Girona is Resorthoppa bookable on line. This is not a private transfer, you will have other stops along the way so again it could take 2hrs or more, but it is the easiest way for Barcelona as it could save you getting lost! The Barcelona fare with Resorthoppa is about 38€ return. Girona about 25€, with a transfer time of about 1hr depending on other pickups. Resorthoppa will drop you off and pick-up as close as possible to your hotel.

Also with a Girona flight there is an airport bus which runs to and from Lloret bus station, costs about 8€ but unfortunately does not run all that often, journey time is 35mins, times can be found HERE This time table is valid till the end of September.
A private taxi Girona - Lloret cost's about 48€.

Cheap Holidays in Lloret de Mar

To get the best chance of grabbing a cheap holiday in Lloret de Mar, its always a good idea to start with your flight, as I said in the previous post the most popular airline used by visitors to the Costa Brava is Ryanair. Even with all the extras they charge for such as priority boarding, checked in luggage etc, flights have never been as cheap.
Whatever accommodation you prefer can be found in Lloret, whether you want the best 5* treatment or even a simple hostel with no rating at all.
During the month of August its virtually impossible to find a bargain but if you are planning a break for later on in the year now is the time to start looking.

Here are just a couple of examples you can expect to pay for a room in September.
For the cheapest you can pay as little as £150 per room for 7 nights stay with bed & breakfast in a 1 star hostel.
For half board in a 3* - 4* hotel prices are around £250 - £350. These prices are per room and not per person.
The only other expense on top of this to complete your cheap holiday is the airport transfer which I'll cover on the next posting.

If you are searching for a holiday in Lloret de Mar you have landed on the most informative English language page for this area. Eventually, I hope to include all the links you will need to book your very own personalised package!
First of all we'll go back to basics with a little about where in Spain Lloret de Mar is situated...
In the province of Catalonia, 97km from the French border in the North Eastern corner of Spain. Lloret is one of the most popular tourist resorts on the Costa Brava.

Here you have a choice of 2 international airports, the nearest GIRONA airport is only 29km away.
The much larger airport of BARCELONA is 93km further down the coast.

The most popular airline for this region is RYANAIR now uses  Girona airport and also Barcelona. When booking a flight with Ryanair you will notice it states Girona airport as Barcelona-Girona, this is actually Girona and not Barcelona.
If you choose to fly into Barcelona you have a choice of several other airlines which fly to this airport from the UK, they are.... BRITISH AIRWAYS, ... JET2, ... EASY JET ... & ... MONARCH AIRLINES.
